The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is a 4.5-year professional undergraduate degree in the field of Allied Health Sciences, which includes 4 years of academic study and 6 months of compulsory clinical internship. This program focuses on the science of physical movement and the use of evidence-based therapeutic practices to restore function, enhance mobility, and improve the quality of life for individuals with injuries, disabilities, or chronic conditions.
Students gain comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, pathology, and rehabilitation techniques. They are trained to assess patients, plan and implement treatment strategies, and use various physical agents such as exercise, electrotherapy, and manual therapy. The curriculum emphasizes clinical exposure and hands-on learning in hospital and rehabilitation settings.
BPT graduates can pursue careers as licensed physiotherapists in hospitals, private clinics, sports teams, rehabilitation centers, fitness institutions, or continue with postgraduate studies (MPT) in specialized areas like neurology, orthopedics, sports, or cardiopulmonary physiotherapy.
