Document Checklist for Nursing Admission 2026 — Everything You Need

When you get your NEET score and are ready to apply for nursing colleges, having the right documents in order can be the difference between securing your seat and losing it.

Original Documents Required

1. NEET UG 2026 Admit Card — Required for identity verification at counselling

2. NEET UG 2026 Scorecard — Original printed scorecard from NTA

3. Class 10 (SSLC) Mark Sheet — Original passing certificate and mark sheet

4. Class 12 (HSC/Plus Two) Mark Sheet — Both year mark sheets if applicable

5. Class 12 Passing Certificate / Transfer Certificate (TC)

6. Community/Caste Certificate — If you belong to SC/ST/OBC/MBC/DNC category (issued by Tahsildar/Revenue official)

7. Aadhar Card — Must show correct date of birth and address

8. Nativity Certificate / Residence Proof — Issued by Tahsildar; required for state quota admissions

9. Income Certificate — Required for scholarship applications; issued by revenue department

10. Medical Fitness Certificate — Signed by a Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP) confirming physical fitness for nursing

11. Migration Certificate — Required if you studied in a different state's board

12. Passport-size Photographs — At least 10 recent photos (2"×2", white background)

Photocopies Required

Carry at least 5 sets of self-attested photocopies of every document listed above. Some colleges require additional sets for the university affiliation process.

Optional but Recommended

• Bank passbook copy (for scholarship applications)
• Disability certificate (if applicable, for persons with disability category)
• Ex-serviceman certificate (for PM Scholarship eligibility)
• Sports/NCC certificate (some colleges offer sports quota)

Documents for NRI Quota Admissions

• NRI relative's passport copy
• Proof of residency abroad (visa, work permit, or residence permit)
• Relationship proof (birth certificate, affidavit)
• Foreign exchange remittance proof or financial guarantee letter

Common Problems & Solutions

Class 12 marks not yet verified: Get a provisional certificate from the school and bring the original later for verification.

Community certificate in different name: Get an updated certificate from the Tahsildar immediately; name must match Class 10 certificate exactly.

No nativity certificate: Apply urgently at the Tahsildar office. This is a common bottleneck — apply as soon as NEET results are out.

Medical certificate: Can usually be obtained from any government hospital or registered doctor within 1–2 days.

Pro Tip

Keep all originals in a single clearly labelled plastic folder. Keep a second folder of self-attested copies. Take a phone photograph of every document — cloud backup is essential.
